This is always one of my most anticipated shows on the Milan schedule. When I die, I would like to be buried in Marni (with a splash of vintage Yves Saint Laurent for good measure). When you go, best to go looking fabulous no?
Look at that gorgeous brocade with all the 'Russian' jewelled business going on and then the kooky tights and the gloves... this is one of my favourite looks from yesterday's Marni show. LOVE IT. I have to say, when the models intially began to troop (okay, walk) down the runway, as beautiful as it was (the Stanley Hagler-esque jewellery is TO DIE FOR), my heart begun to sink. It was black black and more black. Yes I know we're in a downturn (yawn, yawn) but goodness give us a break. All was not lost however because in time, hints of colour were unleashed. Not as riotous as the current Spring Summer collection but enough to stop us from falling into a deep depression.
Oh and in case you didn't know, if Marni - and the influential Prada -is anything to go by, next season is going to be all about FUR. You've been warned.
