Pictures from the Met Ball

Anna Wintour in Chanel Haute Couture with her daughter Bee Schaffer in Balenciaga
M.I.A (so beyond cool) with Alexander Wang and Zoe Kravitz
Stella McCartney , Liv Tyler and Kate Hudson. All in Stella... of course.
SJP in Halston Heritage
Sean Combs looking dapper in Dries Van Noten - possibly one of the few guys who didn't don Tom Ford.
Rachel Zoe in super lush yellow velvet by Marc Jacobs
Rachel Weisz in Oscar de la Renta
Rachel Roy and Liya Kebede
Proenza Schouler boys and Chloe Sevigny
Naomi Watts in Stella McCartney and Liev Schreiber in Tom Ford
Naomi Campbell in Dolce and Gabbana
Marion Cottilard in Dior
Margherita Missoni in Missoni
Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman of Marchesa with Eva Longoria
Lily Donaldson in Marc Jacobs
The inimitable Lady Gaga
Sienna Miller in Emilio Pucci with Jude Law - It's back on!
Camilla Belle and Jason Wu
Janet Jackson in Lanvin
Iman in Prada
Possibly the sexiest couple.... Gisele in Alexander Wang and hubby Tom Brady in Tom Ford
Eva Mendes in Dolce and Gabbana
Emma Watson in Burberry with Christopher Bailey
Charlotte Gainsbourg in Balenciaga and Nicolas Ghesquiere
Chanel Iman in Michael Kors. She looks fierce. Years ago I worked with the late Isabella Blow and I remember her wearing a similar outfit into the office at the height of winter.... A visionary so ahead of her time.
Blake Lively looking F-A-B in Marchesa. That cornflower blue is amazing against her skin tone. Look out for Marchesa at Browns next season!
Bar Refaeli in Rag and Bone.

The Met Museum's Costume Institute celebrated the opening of 'American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity' with this year's fabulous ball - always deemed the Oscars of the Fashion industry. From these pictures, you can see why. Also, of course, Anna Wintour is the co chair of the Institute's committee. My favourite look? A toss up between Blake Lively and Chanel Iman. Enjoy the pics and let us know who you favour!
