First night at the Frieze art fair

Just off the train from Paris- what a week!! The highlights included the Celine and Chloé show, both mouthwateringly elegant and so wearable. At the margiela showroom visit we discovered their new line of sunglasses which are beyond cool as well as discovering a new and very exciting brand for Focus, Suno- Ny. The designers of the label Max and Erin are our new best friends. Dinners were spent at La Derriere, the food gets better and better and the secret bar through the wardrobe door more and more fun as was dancing at Montana. The most important evening for us was hosting our exclusive dinner where we had chefs from Viajante over to Paris to cook for us in the most fabulous private apartment in Saint Germain.

But no time for early nights and the new series of mad men straight off the eurostar and hurtling head first into Frieze week ………

1st stop the DKNY store hosted an Art Attack event and auction in support of the charity 'Women for Women' of which Mrs Band everyone at Browns supports wholeheartedly. It was great to catch up with Mercedes Zobel who was the leading force for this and many other events for W4W. She looked stunning in Matthew Williamson.

Then it was straight onto the much talked about and anticipated opening of Marina Abramovic's photo and video exhibit at the Lisson – WOW – she really is crazy. Had a chat with her, she is opening a school in Belgrade which she is in the middle of refurbishing. It’s a school for performing arts but each lecture is never shorter than 6 hours (!!!). She did joke that she was considering building the chairs for her students which flip back into beds but she is so fascinating I can’t imagine she would need them!

The after party was in the Paddington basin. Arriving into this strange office block development I could hardly imagine where the Lisson - whose parties are always the coolest and most cleverly thought out of Frieze could be taking us too…..

We found ourselves in an underground concrete space lit so cleverly it instantly felt warm and inviting, this was definitely helped by the magnificent food laid on for us. Oyster Bars, cheese from La Fromagerie, pastrami and rye sandwich bar with gherkins, beetroot relish, mushroom truffle risotto and much much more. After some great music from our dear friends and official Browns DJ’s Dan Lywood and Ben Bridgewater and one last apple and blackberry crumble it was time to move on....
