Faye Toogood and Browns Fashion share a similar philosophy when it comes to design. Both avoid the formulaic; both like to experiment with what is new and unconventional. Faye designed the current window displays for Browns, reasserting herself as a talented designer whose vision encompasses different forms of design.

On Friday, Faye launched her third collection of furniture titled Delicate Interference: Assemblage 3, available exclusively at Phillips de Pury Space at Claridges’s, on Brook Street, W1. The evening was a fine gathering of Faye’s friends who came to congratulate her and admire her work. Tom Dixon was one of the first to arrive.

With each Assemblage, Faye engages with the products, working across multiple disciplines to create a single body of work with an intuitive and unified narrative. One could define her work as utilitarian sculptures; each single piece has an everyday life aspect, be it a table or a cabinet. The design takes away the mundane appearances of each piece of furniture and elevates it to art.

Exhibition 17 September – 4 October 2011Monday - Saturday 10am-7pm. Sunday 12pm-5pm. Claridge’s, 45-47 Brook Street, London W1
