Here at Browns HQ, we’re big fans of Dries Van Noten. Renowned for his use of digitally enhanced ethnic prints and innovative fabric, we were blown away by his SS12 collection; it literally was love at first sight. So we were particularly animated to find out that James Reeve, a British photographer based in Marseille, provided some of the inspiration for the collection. Dries Van Noten discovered the series of works by James Reeve entitled ‘Lightscapes’ when presiding over the fashion jury at the Festival d’Hyères in 2010, and decided to incorporate the photos into the SS12 collection.
Excitingly, designer and muse have come together once again for an inspiring exhibition in Vienna, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Paris. Featuring garments and accessories from Van Noten’s latest collection, plus Reeve’s nightscape photos of cities such as Beirut, London, Las Vegas and Marseille, the exhibition is set to be a visual feast!
