We've been having a rummage through Balenciaga's website, which is filled with fashionable treats from their archives. It's particularly intriguing to see how Nicolas Ghesquiere evolved Cristóbal Balenciaga's sketches and silhouettes for a modern-day audience, and to suit the fashion houses future-facing aesthetic. Ghesquiere has really continued that refreshing and independent forwardness that Cristóbal initiated, and we're sooo glad he has. Take a look at our pick of Balenciaga's most covetable designs through the ages; it's a fashion evolution.

  1. Ooooh I've just realised a vintage coat I picked up in Milan is most probably Balenciaga. It's identical to the egg-black-coat there!
