Following yesterday's post, we wanted to show our AW'12 sketchbooks and let you see the design process behind the collection. For AW'12 we looked into the idea of uncharted lands and new territory where monsters inhabit the sea (in the form of printed sweaters with cute monsters!) and brightly coloured ships sail through Arctic waters. The race for the South Pole was a huge inspiration, along with the idea of traveling and exploring through books and ancient maps…

Posted below are some of our AW'12 looks along with the original inspiration…

----------

Scott and Admundsen's race to the South Pole made us think of adventure and exploring a new world..

Maps and cartography informed our prints, as shown in the look below. Along with our box wristlet bag made in collaboration with the wonderful Maija of Garnet London

Who can forget The Life Aquatic when thinking of all things nautical?! After all who can resist a man in a red hat?! (Oh and happy birthday to Wes Anderson for yesterday!)

The original ships that were used in the race for the South Pole along with the work's of Jasper Johns sit alongside our textured knitted sweaters and striped skirts…

Scary sea monsters featured throughout our prints and as printed sweaters… everyone in the studio wants one!

The seafaring books of Peter Carey cross the line where reality stops and fantasy starts! A weird and wonderful read!
