Having exclusively stocked MiharaYasuhiro for six seasons, so we're more than a little bit excited that the eponymous Japanese designer has curated his own space in the Browns menswear store for AW12.
Evoking a sense of childhood nostalgia through the concept of ‘musical chairs’, the space combines a mixture of contemporary and antique stools, while the walls are covered in an abstract wallpaper that showcases images of Mihara’s Tokyo studio and factory, suggesting a sense of the Yasuhiro’s heritage.
To celebrate the launch of the MiharaYasuhiro Space, last night we held a party with samurai guitarist Miyavi. Guests were treated to cocktails by Patron; Margarita on the rocks, Mexican Mules and Raging Bull, as well as Sushi prepared in front of the guests. MIYAVI, Japanese visual Kei Rock musician, who performed at Mihara’s AW12 show in Paris, entertained guests to a live guitar performance (and contended with the hysteria of his dedicated fans who lined South Molton Street).
This season Browns have also collaborated with Mihara on an exclusive line for Bfocus to produce a beautiful capsule collection inspired by and entitled ‘Miharayasuhiro Student Days'. This is the sixth season for Bfocus, who have previously collaborated with young graduates and emerging designers
The Mihara space will be open at 23 South Molton Street from September 5th-December 5th.
