David A. Smith for Browns Halloween windows

The second artist to collaborate with us on our Halloween windows is David A. Smith, who will have his delightfully spectral folklore pieces, including a white deer's skull and a skeletal cat, displayed in the window of Browns Focus.

David has been featured on Saatchi online's '100 curators for 100 days project' here.

'I am interested in the physical manifestation of memory within sculpted form and the qualities inherent in specific materials. My sculptural practice celebrates the form and function of materials while imbuing each work with an intimate narrative and simplified aesthetic sensibility. Recently I have been looking at folklore in relation to animal apparitions and their spectral appearance as omens.

I work as a sculptor participating in shows and fulfilling commissions for private collectors. I specialise in working with neon materials, electroluminescent wire, flocking and resin animal forms.'
