The success of an art fair can be determined by the champagne bar on opening night – and you know it’s going to be successful if Fortnum and Mason are providing the refreshments.
One of the installations at last night's opening
ART 13 opened officially last night at London Olympia, showcasing outstanding artworks from 129 of the
world’s leading galleries.
One of the stand-out features of this year’s event is a series of 11 performances curated by Amanprit Sandhu, who has overseen projects for the Liverpool Biennial and Cultural Olympiad.
These exclusive performances will take place in a dedicated booth, featuring a range of international artists representing the diversity of contemporary performance art being produced today.
This way of expressing art is going through a revival; art to be consumed in the moment, art to be experienced and not only to adorn the walls of a selected few. For the next three days, ART 13 will offer the opportunity to see art in action.
