Behind the scenes at our Basic Instinct editorial

Indispensable basic garments are the key to a failsafe wardrobe, and spring/summer ’13 is overflowing with an abundance of them. Featuring hero pieces from Alexander Wang, Jil Sander, ACNE and Stella McCartney, our in-house stylist Adam Pruchniewicz and his team curated a new season shoot that was all about clean lines, minimal tailoring and muted colour palettes.

You can view the full edit on our homepage, but for a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of the shoot check out the below shots...

Recession Studios in East London was our destination for the weekend's editorial.

The day starts out with Adam's planned looks.

We get started bright and early with the model in hair and make up.

There's a brush for every occasion.

Accessories galore!

Make up done and on to the first look... Still time for a touch-up.

Adam goes through the moodboard with the model.

Time for more touch-ups between looks.

Lights. Camera. Action.

 Working a perfectly tousled look.

Adam monitors the shots on screen to make sure everything is looking great.

Relaxed cool in Jil Sander on set.

Shoes and kittens, what more could a girl want?

The model has a well-earned rest after a long day of shooting.

Stylist: Adam Pruchniewicz

Hair/Make-up Artist: Kym Nagyos

A special thanks to Recession Studios
